About Me

As must be obvious from my home page, my name is Ahmed Baraka. Like many Palestinians, my life has been spent so far in various Middle East countries. I was born in Kuwait in 1972. Then I moved with my family to the Gaza Strip, Palestine in 1988. Because of the unstable conditions in Gaza at that time, the education system in Gaza was useless. Therefore, we travelled to Libya for the purpose of education. I completed the university education there and obtained BSc. degree on Computer Engineering in 1996.

I then returned to Gaza and worked there in the government sector as an Oracle Developer. Also, I undertook a four-month course in Software Engineering in the Royal Scientific Society in Jordan. Then I worked in UAE in a few places mainly as Oracle DBA.

At the moment, I have just moved to Australia (Sydney) and look forward to pursuing my successful life there.

Beside the countries mentioned above, I have been to Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.

My father was fond of children. I have four brothers and three sisters. I know it is sometimes hard to live in a large family, but luckily in my case it has been interesting. Unfortunately my youngest brother who I loved so much is no longer with us.

I got married in UAE and was blessed with two so cute daughters who I adore.

Although my work is all about computers (specialized on Oracle), I still prefer to spend my leisure time in front of my PC doing some web-design, reading from online resources or playing computer games. The outdoor activities I also enjoy are going to beach and visiting friends.

Another appealing subject to me is what I could name 'cultural communication'. Every community over the world has its values, customs, experience and standard of civilization. I believe we can learn a lot from studying other communities and mixing with people from other cultures. Thanks God I was born in this communications era, since the Internet provides a useful practical media to meet new people from over the world.
